 Elhadi M. Yahia (Mexico)
Food Science & Post-harvest Handling
Elhadi Yahia is professor and senior research scientist with the postgraduate programs of Food Science & Technology and Human Nutrition at the Autonomous University of Queretaro (Mexico). He holds degrees in horticulture, pomology (fruits and nuts), food science and plant physiology and has held positions with the Mexican Research Center for Food and Development, the International Mexican Bank, and the Alfateh University in Lybia.
Throughout his academic career he has been involved in a wide range of international research projects regarding post-harvest technology and handling of perishable food crops and has published extensively on related topics.
Prof. Yahia has also collaborated with USAID, USDA, FAO, WFLO, ICARDA, World Bank, Winrock International, Arcadis Euroconsult, and different national agricultural organizations, food associations, exporters unions, and individual companies in more than 30 countries. His expertise has brought him all over the world: from Latin America (Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Uruguay, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic) to the Middle East (Jordan, West Bank and Gaza, Oman, Lebanon) and from Asia ((India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Thailand) to North Africa (Algeria, Libya, Morocco, Tunisia).
